Age: The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) states that if exposure to the sun is unavoidable and your baby is under 6 months, a non-chemical sunscreen (like ours) should be used; consult with your physician. The AAP recommends that because an infant's skin is very thin and sensitive, infants under 6 months should be kept out of the sun.

A note from Jessica, developer of California Baby®: Yes, it’s a big bottle of sunscreen! But if you have kids and they are swimming all day during the summer—and who doesn’t want to be out in the sun after winter’s chill?—this is the product for you. I have yet to finish my bottle after almost a year; but I actively work to avoid the sun and tend to wear our SPF18 daily; although I have been applying the 30+ to décolleté for a boost of extra protection. With this big jug around, there is no excuse not to apply—and reapply—sunscreen. For best results, apply 30 minutes prior to sun exposure, which allows the product to create an emulsion on top of the skin. Reapply every hour or so (after toweling dry) when actively outside.
Dermatologists and the American Cancer Society urge the use of sunscreen everyday and year-round.

- Moms, our sunscreens work great under make-up because they are non-greasy and they create a nice "cover-up" base under foundation or powder. To get a nice even layer, dot around the face and blend with a cosmetic sponge as you would foundation.
